Professional Background

I am a clinical social worker and family therapist with over 18 years of experience in senior clinical roles at the forefront of leading mental health organisations in Australia, including Orygen, Headspace, Melbourne University Counselling Service, and the Royal Children’s Hospital mental health services.
I have had a private practice since 2008 and work with young people, adults, families, and couples. I am a qualified, accredited mental health social worker with a master’s degree in clinical family therapy.
My areas of speciality for treatment and therapy are depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, attachment and relationships.
I use a range of therapeutic models and evidence-based interventions. I prefer strength-based, relational approaches to therapy and see the individual as part of their wider system, community, culture and family- people need to find a good fit to get the most out of therapy with both their therapist and the type of engagement and therapy that is used.

I practice EMDR (eye movement desensitizing and reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems.

Both of these therapies have evidence in their treatment of trauma, depression, and anxiety.

Accredited as a mental health social worker in 2008 and Master’s of Clinical Family Therapy in 2009, trained in Advanced training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytical therapy, and  I am a trained practitioner in Internal Family Systems.
I am experienced and trained as a supervisor, leader, and manager, having over 15 years in senior clinical roles leading large clinical multidisciplinary teams.
Clinical Supervision, consultation, and mentorship for clinical leadership roles and senior management are also available.
